Why FusionPhysio Lower Extremity?

Times have changed. Physiotherapy should too.

This isn’t your 1990’s Fraser Valley or medical system anymore. So much has changed , particularly since the internet age. The technology explosion and vast advances in physical therapy research have greatly increased the potential for effective care of you your injuries and conditions.

But sometimes we still practice physiotherapy like it’s the 1990’s. We see you in the clinic. We give you some exercises, manual therapy, quick advice, maybe a machine . . . . etc. But it’s all pretty quick.

There is so much more value you could get from your physiotherapy care if we could just enhance it with curated resources, education, digital tools, and rehabilitation aids that we don’t have time for in the clinic.

This is possible, it just takes some effort. That’s what this website is all about. A companion resource for your lower extremity physiotherapy care to go alongside and enhance your physical therapy care.

About the author. About this website . . .

This website is written and designed by Jeremy McAllister, Physical Therapist. I’ve had the pleasure of working in Chilliwack in rehabilitation for the past 28 years. As a part of my journey, I completed a Masters Of Health Administration at the University of British Columbia in 2014. There, it became clear to me just how much we could enhance our care for our patients through the use of online education and tools. After a period of time working in management and digital health consulting, I returned full time to clinical practice in 2019 with my long time colleague, Remmert Hinlopen, under the banner of FusionPhysio.

It is clear to me that our health system is so strained, and the role of the physical therapist has become increasingly important. Our doctors are under such time pressures, that often through no fault of their own, they can to spend much time on musculoskeletal issues. It is difficult and usually a lengthy wait to get into a specialist appointment, and you can forget about getting a timely MRI unless you want to pay for it. Even in my own profession, physical therapy appointments are expensive and the time is often spent on what is most critical at the moment. There is so often more I’ve wanted to do, but there is no time to do it in a standard physio appointment.

So this website is something I’ve wanted to develop for a long time. It is central hub where I can point those I am trying to help with additional resources to make their rehabilitation easier and more complete. I call it Enhanced Care. I hope it is valuable to you. And if you are not a patient of mine currently and have just stumbled upon the site, feel free to use what helps you.
